BigB Fight
Now BigB stnads for THE Amitabh Bachchan. A superstar, who nearly every Indian worships & thinks as the master of acting. I have my reservations...because i feel since few years he has stopped acting & is upto to antics. Moreover i judge actors, stars-yeah i do judge-for a whole lot of things- the ease with which they take their stardom, conduct themselves, how less hypocritical they are or not, how they deal with publicity, malicious or good, how they come across & who they try to portray themselves, whom do they hob nob with, what are the kind of people they have businesses with...etc etc. Simply b'coz damit half the world's population looks up to these icons, or morons.
In case of BigB as he is termed. He really is humility personified. errr...wait pl do read his blog for further clarifications. He rips apart the persons, he doesn't even spare women. Why should he right? He gets personal & so personal (in case of a North Indian writer from the Times Group has been subjected to some references that concern her physicality!)that his own so-called humility sounds fake. He lets out some secret, personal stuff then waits to see reactions of the public & media, whom he thinks he can manipulate like puppets. Most often it backfires. Like in the case with his daughter-in-law's poor man's illness that has become a rich man's illness...oh didn't you guess?? Tuberculosis!! Didn't know it's a taboo. So the tabloid printed it saying why she can't get preggers.
He's been hyperventilating now boycotting the group's awards. Ohhh lala...so much for his dimplomacy! the world has a lot to say about this paternalistic, over-protective father-in-law. Personal Life, me NOT interested...not at all
But yes his associations, dabbling in various businesses, i am truly surprised that BigB has not been put behind bars. He was helped ably & lifted out of a financial mess by the besaharon ka 'sahara group.' Who runs reportedly drug cartels, he funds the mafia & has all malicious & shady dealings. No wonder he could pump millions into a fledgling companhy called ABCL.
Delhi political circles since 1984 are abuzz with stories of how BigB was given the Bofors kick back money, wc he NEVER returned to Sonia Gandhi (widow of slain Rajiv Gandhi, former PM, old pal of Bachchan), who obviously has got back at this man. At her daughter's wedding, from what i heard in Delhi BigB was never invited to hand over-do kanyadaan of Priyanka. He forcibly took on this duty.
these all issues obviously have kept the man tainted. As if it is not enough, Now BigB has become ambassador for Gujarat, Narendra Modi's state. A chief minister who has instigated, abbetted crimes against Muslims, women, allowed cold blooded murders, deaths, uncouth rape & murders of women, foetuses & children. The same Modi who has blood on his hands, has turned around his state after the murders. He even got a couple murdered with a sweet girls Ishrat Jahan fm Mumbra whom he got termed as terrorist! This BigB has gone & joined the team.
If we say the Jews were treated in the most inhuman manner & Hitler is held responsible, this man Modi is in the same league as Hitler. If any artiste had been associated with Hitler he would have surely been run down. But this doesn't happen in the case of BigB. It is raved & written with utmost respect. this baffles me.
Having said this i do not discount the fact that the country nearly went into depression when he was seriously injured, but like a friend tells me, "His time had not come, that is why he did not die," the poor stuntman who kicked him wrongly, has been doomed for life though...but here we are dealing with one man whose real self he himself may or may not know...but his ghostly aura definitely tries to overpower every sane person's thinking.

German Bakery conspiracy
There once was a bakery, German Bakery on the corner of Osho park, Pune. It was in Koregaon park. I tlak in past tense because last Saturday it was blown apart. Now, the investigating agencies & media together at one go decided it was an Islamic fundamentalist attack on foreigners & they nearly missed the Chabbard house. LOL!
This is one of the biggest jokes. Till the day of the attack even those living in Pune, especialyl enar Osho Ashram had NO information of any chabbard house, in its vicinity. There is NONE till minutes away, wc is far enough. Now interstingly for someone like me who has spent days on for nearly 3-4 yrs at least a week, twice a yr in & around OSho ashram, i can tell u every nook & corner. I know one thing for sure, bang next to the bakery is a Kashmiri friend's shop..ibu i hope is safe...I have a college friend staying 2 minutes down the lane, one of my closest friend since 1st day of college...she joined the ashram & i pursued her for 2 yrs coz she just disappeared fm my life...to join the ashram. 1st i was devastated. I visited it often for her, even hung around it for one week once to introspect on the choice of my life, career...to experience as she said. I can assure there is NO way this attack was by any ISalmic force.
Why is that whenever a bomb attack or so-called alleged terror attack takes place we first attribute it to Islamic fascist groups? Why not the right wing fascists? They have been openly saying kill the Muslims, attack them. Blah Blah. why don't reporters ask the authorities is any Hindu, right wing outfit involved? How can they be certain when 3 So-called Jihadi organisations have staked claim for the attack? It is ridiculous. No Jihadi outfit clashes with the other. They also have a modus operandi which is a series of blasts, they are particualr rather finicky about date, time, the whole network. this is far too straight, a whole lot of crap theory, put together by Intelligence Bureau, Anti-Terrorist Squad & other agencies. Some bull about 2 men in covered scarves. Then the whole thing about remote control.
Question to be asked do the authorities see similarity or link to the Malegaon blasts of 2006? Wc again btw was by the Right wing Hindu outfits. This time too it sure is. That Sawarkar lady who lives in Pune, yes grand daughter of Sawarkar, right wing fascist man. She has spoken of vilence as the means & gave inflamatory speech in Pune. It is sheer coincidence that these attacks take place? very naive the authorities think we all are.
The timing is equally important. Just when the focus is shifting on Indo-Pak talks this incident takes place. Just when the IPL bids took place, there were reports of Pakistani players not being selected, or hired by anyone. These balsts take place. Just at that time Shahrukh Khan had said he felt humiliated that no Pak player was taken on...his remarks evoked extreme responses in India. The Hindu forces ganged up against him...he was well supported by some sensible people, so-called anti-India by many...i supported SRK. Unfortunately the media too took up for Sena & their right wing types.
Just then the balst take place. Now nearly 5-6 yrs ago i had told few friends of mine including Ibu & a former BF that the Kashmiri muslims need to be careful. Their number in Pune had increased in 7 yrs. Most of the shops in that Osho Koregaon vicinity are Muslims. They are good traders, the market ideal for them, as most are foreigners. The good opportunity doubled with fine weather, cool wc suited them. However it was a gut feeling i expressed. The authorities are biased. We as a country are extremely biased. Post-1993 we have become discriminatory. We forget 1993 blasts were an outcome of the 1992 riots. All have short term memory...but the authorities don't. On top of that the right wing Hindu RSS lobby has strongly infiltrated the IB & RAW & state intelligence units. There is NO surprise these kinds of events, blasts take place.
In case of Hindu fascist groups involvement, we say, "There is no evidence to establish tehir involvement." Do we have as much evidence in case of the hundreds forcibly picked up by the authorities? Fahim Ansari was picked up before Malegaon blasts, they couldn't pin him to that, when he was in jail they accuse him of planning 26/11. Why not use the same Parameters to judge that Sadhvi Pragnya & her accomplices?? No, we will never.
What we need to know is with Col Purohit in jail, how did the Hindu fascist get the RDX? This line needs to be explored, that will give us the real lead. The authorities can not even decide which is the exact outfit, what name to give it. This wreaks of similarities like Akshardham attack.

death of a just voice
Off late i have been attending quite a few funerals of friends. Wonder how many more i will have to attend. The most recent being of Advocate Shahid Azmi. A young, able, super lawyer who upheld human rights & extremely handsome. I was first introduced to Shahid he Muslim leader Abu Azmi. He had told me, "Neeta be in touch wt him, he's a very bright young lawyer. He will become famous," Abubhai had told me. That was when Abu azmi asked Shahid to take up Khwaja Yunus case, when Majeed Memon let down Yunus's family. By then memon had become a fixer.
I lost touch for few months thereafter & needed Shahid's help yet again. That was during the TADA '93 blast order time, then Train blasts, followed by Gateway, Malegaon to top it..I asked my friend Sanobar to put in a word for me. Since i would not cover court regularly, i lost touch, Shahid saw it as my missing stories, wc then i had to explain to him was not the case. With every passing case, Shahid was getting famous. In a short span of 5-6 years Shahid had become a name in the legal fraternity. It was NOT for the kind of cases he took up. It was how he became famous. His legal skills, his cross questioning, his cool even in the most trying times -Shahid was a shinning example.
Very funny, polite & veryyy warm. He had a spooky dungent cabinet..i'd make fun of him & say We both can't sit together to talk shahid..that means u don't me here, you don't want me to do a story...he would laugh & say no i will soon buy a bigger off so you can sit comfortably..& force me to have the pathetic tea served by the tapri in those cabinets..
The one thing i knew all the families of the alleged accused breathed by his name! They worshipped the ground on wc he walked. I have seen it the villages of Aurangabad & Malegaon. They had faith in Shahid, that he would fight their case till the end & give them justice. Shahid fought for them dedicatedly, that too without charging them any fee. How could he charge fees?? He would tell me, "They have no money to come to Mumbai, forget pay me. You want stories neeta, go meet them at the court, just tell them i've sent you." Shahid never needed to come there, he would send punter or person...but he ensured it all fell in place & i got the people to talk to. He aprpeciated the stories. Over a period of time he would tell me, "i know
what kind of stories to give you...he gave me remarkable cases - man who was given electric shocks on his testicles, alleged to have met Dawood in Dubai, bcoz he lived in Bhendi Bazar also..
Shahid wanted to be a journalist. He had a fine sense of news. More so he knew wc journalist would do what kind of stories. I admired his career & the way he rose. Mind you he was NO fluke...or overnight star. He was to remain for a long time. His only prob was..he was hurt, angry, like a lot of Muslim youth. He had witnessed his cousin sister getting raped, his father was kileld in the 1992 riots after the Babri Masjid was demolished. Shahid lived in the Govandi slums then. He was angry, upset fired the police & said kills those bastard thackerays etc..well i don't blame him. But the police NEVER forgot him. They kept trace of him.
Angry like many Muslim youth, Shahid went to Kashmir, got enrolled in a training camp, realised that was not his cup of tea or the path he wanted to take. He felt for people & wanted justice. He then thought of doing journalism. But fate had other plans for him. While he was returning to Mumbai, he was picked up & framed for a whole lot of fake sections. At the age of 15 years, Shahid was put behind bars in the topmost jail of India -Tihar jail. That was his turning point. In jail he was put with hardcore criminals that's where he learnt his basics in law. He would listen to their cases, discussions. people like Azar Masood-Pak terrorist who was released after they hijacked a AI plane fm Khatmandu & many others.
He was released fm TADA, acquitted since all charges were false. Shahid then went on to completing a degree in law. That marked the beginning of a wonderful career. Unbashed about his feelings of those in power. Shahid was clear he will uphold the constitution of India & human rights. Most of all he will fight for the framed Muslims. He was not diplomatic, didn't mince his words and the kind of cases he dealt was sure shot trouble for him. Basically Shahid was a menace to the authorities. He was threatened and asked to keep quiet.

Rahul Gandhi came & conquered hearts of Bombay, alias Mumbai
I'm not much of a fan of politicians. Some are friends, many sources & mostly i see them all cynically with suspicion. However, today i saw a young man, icon of the youth in India. I saw Rahul Gandhi twice closely - i know many will be jealous- his complexion is like pure snow. Little too white washed may be for Indian standards, but i don't blame the women folk for falling for him.
He also has that genuine look in his eyes. Yes, he knows he is in the business of politics and needs to be shrewd, smart, yet not tainted. Last couple of days i however think Rahul Gandhi has made some ridiculous statements. Like NSG saved mumbai city, wc it did eventually. But the 26/11 terror attacks on B'bay-alias-Mumbai were different. The first people to go out on the ground were Marathi police, thos who died were Maharashtrians officers simply bcoz the rest especially 5 officers refused to step out & face the reality. More over the most important factor -FIRST ever terrorist caught alive was thanks to Omble, the police officer who was slain, that same night, while he captured Kasab.
In this background, to shut the mouths of these Shiv Sena & MNS types Rahul too fell for the politics. He too made statements which i think were out of place. The 26/11 terror attacks & those who died are not be used loosely by politicians. Or be made political.
Yes, in this background i was not sure what the end result of today's possible event would be. I went with absolute skepticism and was cursing i was on that duty. Considering the Youth Congress and Cong leaders had tipped me abt his visit to Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, his itneraction with slum youth so i reluctantly ventured all the way to Ghatkopar.
Suddenly some news person told us casually that Rahul is travelling by train fm Andheri to Dadar. For few seconds we took it lightly, then it was either Dadar or Bandra. My friend from TOI asked me & we rushed. I've not run like this even school for athletics sports event. I ran, my sides still hurt. Then zoomed on friend's bike & we were descending the bridge at Ghatkopar platform no1, when i see starched white clad Rahul Gandhi like snow walk cooly. Smiling at one and all! it was magical, second only to Tendulkar's experience on Wankhede stadium. There is something abt these youth.
Suddenly the ONLY buzz at the station was 'Rahulji,' "ohh look, he's there" "yeahhh, i saw him," after he looked at any girl & smiled, one actually jumped, "I saw him, I saw him." One wanted to shake hands with him & when he did, she must've fainted. The police were all gushing about him. The women and men alike. Most males found Rahul 'cool,' "he's a dude man, travelled in locals," said few others.
The fact that Rahul set aside security concerns, Sena's threats & quietly travelled by local trains, he has conquered the hearts of Bombayites, Mumbaikars. Only stray few absolute chutiyam sulphates (pl see Ishqiyaa to know wot it means) have reacted negatively. Symbolic gestures or otherwise, this man means business & the Cong party is grooming him for the future. Only hope he does more than Obama has for US, after all those tall talks.
